The 2018 American Berkshire Association Progeny Test Results are in!

But what is the progeny test? Our test is the most extensive, in depth evaluation to test sire performance on hogs that are tested. Twelve measures are used to collect data carcass composition, growth performance, meat quality and eating quality. In a nut shell, the Progeny Test gives accurate data to justify why Berkshire pork is the best.

The 100% Berkshire Performance Sire Index gives data for average daily gain, loin eye area and soundness. Congratulations to Seybold Berkshires and Fly’n K Berkshires for their highest scoring boars.

The 100% Berkshire Prime Pork Index tests ultimate pH, sensory juiciness, cooking loss and more. Congratulations to Seybold Berkshires and Fly’n K Berkshires for the top three prime pork indexes.
