When Austin and Ken heard there was going to be an alternative show for NBS and “The Graduate” was going to be the successor to the Hog College Row, they knew exactly the gilt that needed to be nominated because of her unique pieces that their firm is known for; good looking and extended with
the correct basic build. AUST0 MICHELLE 14-9 was the perfect fit.
From the side AUST0 MICHELLE 14-9 is very elite in how high her long, extended neck and feminine skull attaches to the topside of her blade, along with being naturally tall fronted with the correct length of body and proportions to project a balanced look from the profile. 14-9 reads with correct angles off both ends of her skeleton allowing her to be comfortable at the drive with clean, flexible joints and gives her the ability to keep her head up as she’s in motion. Front to back 14-9 is opened up in her chest, big topped, and square from hip hock to ground.
AUST0 MICHELLE 14-9 earned the title of Grand Champion Overall Purebred Breeding Gilt at the Louisa County Fair, IA shown by Gabe Totemeier, as well as second in class at the Iowa State Fair 4-H Show
behind the Reserve Champion Berkshire Breeding Gilt. Her littermate was named Reserve Champion Berkshire Market Hog at the Clinton County Fair, IA as well this summer! Previously, her mother raised the 2020 TN State Swine Show Champion Berkshire Gilt, who was also the 2020 TN 4-H Central Region Swine Show Champion Berkshire Gilt and Reserve Supreme Overall Gilt!
Austin and Ken are honored to have been selected for the first ever “The Graduate Gilt” and are proud to be represented by AUST0 MICHELLE 14-9. She not only has the unique pieces to make her a progressive generator in the show sector of the Berkshire breed, but also has a tremendous sow family behind her and is tightly line bred (having 3 shots of the Speak Now x Gary Coleman mating in her pedigree) for predictability and maternal power. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to call Austin (563) 212-1999 or Ken (563) 212-5697, and be sure to like them on Facebook at Lane Show Pigs.
